Angelica & Andrew - March 25, 2012

 Sunday, March 25, 2012
Venue: Sommerour
 Atlanta, Georgia

What a sweet review from bride, Angelica:
"Without Ann, my wedding would not have been anywhere NEAR what I had envisioned. I changed my date and moved the wedding up halfway through my engagement and she was ok with that. She kept me organized and on task, she was always ready with advice when I had questions, and she made the big day go flawlessly. My decorator missed the vision I had in mind, and she stepped in and took over. At the very last minute when I was ready to just give up and say "whatever happens, happens" (due to other vendors screw ups), she reminded me that "at the end of the day you'll still be married!", and stepped in and got all my flowers taken care of, she decorated, she put together my bouquet (and made it as beautiful and vintagey as I was hoping for), and by my wedding day I was absolutely blown away that she pulled it together for me. She went above and beyond the call of duty and made my wedding day even BETTER than I imagined it could be! I was able to relax and enjoy every moment of it, while she ran around and made those moments happen.
Thanks Annie!!!
 Love you!!!"

A Bright Idea!

Recently I was approached by a fellow professional wedding vendor who knows I am a wedding planner AND that I have an antique shoppe in Littleton, Colorado. She talked about the huge surge of interest in "rustic, primitive, and vintage" -styled weddings....and said that I have the perfect set-up for supplying unique decor for such.
Well.....after giving it much thought.....and rummaging thru my basement, I have decided to give it a try! There is nothing I like better than helping a bride achieve the wedding of her dreams. I also realize that not every bride is going to want a chalkboard or vintage lace for her wedding decor. She may be the bride who wants contemporary glitz, sparkle and crystals.....and we're ready for that as well!
We will soon be posting photos to give you some idea of what we have available...and what we can arrange for you!

A Sweet Note

Yesterday one of my brides came over to select some vintage decorations for her upcoming wedding....then I got this note from her last night:

Ann,

I can not thank you enough for your time today.  Ever since I left your house I have felt like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders.  I so appreciate you 'getting' my vision AND helping me bring it to fruition.  Such an amazing gift. Truly, I've been a bride with a whole different energy level today because it helped just talking to you.  I guess what I am trying to say is thank you for being a blessing to me and thank you for blessing me with your time, talent, energy, and kindness.  It is very humbling.

Enjoy your evening!
Tristen

Saturday

Recently I've begun to ask brides, "Do you want your mom to dance or wash dishes at the wedding?" That's the best picture I can give them of what mom (or the maid of honor....or the bride herself) will be doing...IF they don't hire a wedding planner.
Well, I just ran across an article I wrote a couple of years ago. Read for yourself~

Here I sit on a snowy Sunday afternoon in January and although I’m enjoying a nice, relaxing day my thoughts are turning to the newly engaged bride-to-be! She’s just received the engagement ring of her dreams and has called every friend she has ever known to give them the good news of her upcoming Special Day! She is bombarded with all the questions, “When is your date?”,  “Where will it be?”, “What are your colors?”, and on it goes with inquiries of every detail until, exhausted, she fall asleep with the latest bridal magazine in her hands….and her dream begins….(or will it be a nightmare?).

With visions from “Father of the Bride” in her mind, details start swirling in her head…. “what kind of  ‘fold’ would you like for your napkins?” …. “do you want to include maps in your invitations?” …. “you can’t overlook your cousin’s twins as flower girls” …. “do you really have to invite your dad’s boss?”….until she wakes up searching for the Table of Contents to find out how to elope!

RELAX. That’s what Wedding Coordinators are for! Sure, in days of old it was Mom and Aunt Suzie who took care of helping you plan your wedding; but today you want Aunt Suzie to come enjoy the celebration and Mom to be as stress-free as possible! With that in mind, let’s look at what a wedding coordinator can do for you.

Many brides wonder if they really need help in making their wedding plans until they begin thinking of all the little details involved in planning the biggest day of their life! A new bride should do her homework in researching services offered and decide if she needs a Wedding Director (rehearsal and “day-of” directing only), a Wedding Coordinator (who takes over after you have found your vendors and finishes the process of coordinating events through the wedding day), or a
full-service Wedding Planner where you will be privy to their entire collection of preferred vendors, enjoy their assistance at vendor meetings,  as well as their hands-on experience for the whole design and planning process.

A good coordinator believes every wedding should be the unique dream of each bride. That’s where customer service is key. The bridal industry has a surplus of “similar” companies, providing ‘similar’ ideas, prices and quality. With  outstanding resources and organizational talents, an ideal coordinator should have enough experience in the wedding world to bring to each bride the expertise of organizing a wedding of any size and style ...providing a wedding production worthy of each couple’s dream!
